Description

The third annual H.E.A.T. "SUM of the Parts" (SUM) Conference will take place this year
beginning on August 20th, 2015 and concluding onAugust 22nd, 2015.
Hosted by H.E.A.T. HQ, the SUM Conference is an opportunity where state-wide, chapter executives come together to learn, create, and share ideas that will ultimately help them strengthen their respective chapters. The theme this year is "Defining Positive Activism".
For the third time, the conference will be held in the town where the first ever H.E.A.T. chapter was created. San Marcos, Texas not only serves as the location most deeply rooted with H.E.A.T., but boasts other qualities such as the ever-growing Texas State campus and the River.
This year, HQ has reserved Texas State's "University Camp", that sits right outside of San Marcos in Wimberley, TX. The UCamp will have the capacity to house all attendees for the three-day conference. There, students will be within close access of the river and multiple hiking trails. The remainder of the conference will be held at the LBJ Student Center on campus, which is within reasonable driving distance from the camp.
Attendees can expect a number of events that perfectly blend the experiences of a conference and a retreat. On one hand, there will be seminars, presentations, and break-out sessions that will require attendees to contribute ideas and absorb knowledge. On the other hand, there will be leadership activities, games, photo sessions, and other outdoor experiences that will allow chapter executives to bond, get to know one another, and wind down from the more focused tasks.
The SUM Conference is an opportunity to cultivate ideas and interact with some of the top H.E.A.T. members across the state. It's advantageous to attend not only for your chapter, but for personal growth and development as a H.E.A.T.ed individual. It's also worth mentioning that we like to have a good time, and plan to party like it's 2010 (H.E.A.T.'s founding year!).
Purchase your ticket as early as possible because there are limited spots availible! We can't wait 'til August!!

Organized by

Founded in 2010, The Human-Environmental- Animal-Team (H.E.A.T. Establishment) is a social service 501(c)3 non-profit designed to improve the world through positive activism. Positive activism is a term championed by H.E.A.T., and it is our mission and challenge to inspire people to solve the worlds issues rather than guilt them into it. We believe that motivation is more powerful than guilt, and we motivate students by promoting the ideas, people and companies taking steps forward rather than pointing fingers at the bad guys. We collaborate with and support other organizations, using our numbers as a platform for ambitious student leaders to network and create world-changing campaigns.H.E.A.T. never demonizes, it rises.
